The 2012 Wheeling International Fest will take place at the Korean Cultural Center of Chicago on June 23rd from 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM. The Fest is presented by the Village of Wheeling, Wheeling Prospect Heights Area Chamber of Commerce, Wheeling Park District and the Korean Cultural Center. All proceeds will go to benefit the Korean Cultural Center and the Wheeling Chamber of Commerce.
The Wheeling/Prospect Heights Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with five other local chambers of commerce collectively known as the Biz 6 Plus Group, are presenting the seminar Your Personal Strategy at Coopers Hawk Winery and Restaurant on May 16th, from 11:30am - 1pm. Tickets are $25 for members of the sponsoring chambers, and $50 for non-members.
The Womens Dream Conference will be held at the Centered Chef, in Chicago, on April 13 from 7am - 5pm. Tickets are $169. The conference is, in the words of founder Andrea Metcalf,
The Regional Business Expo and Restaurant Showcase will take place at the Meadows Club in Rolling Meadows on March 21 from 4-7 pm. Admission is free with a business card.
A Wheeling man will be sentenced February 10th after pleading guilty in Rhode Island to shipping unwanted penis enlargers to patients suffering with diabetes. Forty-nine-year old Gary Winner, who must also complete psychiatric treatment, claimed the device improves prostate health. Winner admitted before a federal judge that he told his potential customers that the penis pumps helped with urinary flow, bladder control and would ease prostate discomfort.
The city of Wheeling is presenting the Wonderland Passport Program until December 17. This program is designed to encourage the community to shop and dine locally. Participating stores and restaurants will be offering discounts and other incentives to Christmas shoppers.
